Will 1-1/4 Inch Ball Mount With 5-1/2 Inch Rise Work if 5 Inches of Rise is Needed

I need to have the height of my hitch be 15 inch to top of ball mount. My current receiver seems to be 10 inch from the ground. I am looking at the BM96 with a rise of 5-1/2. I assume that I should measure from the ground up to the top of the receiver to estimate whether this drawbar when set in the rise position with the ball mount will meet the 15 inch height for my trailer. Will the 1/2 inch be a problem? I am preparing my rig for the Standard Model of Happier Camper following their height requirement. Can you help?

That's a good question, and you did indeed measure correctly, from flat ground to the top of your hitch receiver. Since that measurement is 10 inches and your trailer coupler is 15 inches, 5 inches is the correct rise, but an extra half-inch is absolutely acceptable, so you can use the Brophy ball mount:
- Brophy Drawbar for 1-1/4" Hitches - 5-1/2" Rise, 6" Drop # BM96
As long as you're within about an inch or so of being level you won't have any issues at all when towing. So the # BM96 will work great for you, and the other things you will need are a 2" hitch ball (per Happier Camper) and a hitch pin or lock to secure the ball mount in your 1-1/4" hitch:
- 2" Hitch Ball # 19258
- Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 1-1/4" Hitches # e98879 or Hitch Pin and Clip for 1-1/4" Hitches # F-4

I made a mistake in my question. I realize that if I add the Browphy drawbar BM96 which gives me 5" and add the 2" ball mount, I will have a rise of 7" or 17" from ground - more than 15", so I do need another Class II drawbar with more like 3" rise. Also the shank has to be longer as I will hit my bumper if less that 5" between receiver and rise. Sorry to get that wrong. M.
