Recommended Ball Mount with 7 Inch Rise for Class I Trailer Hitch

Question:
Hi, I have a 2014 Jetta diesel sedan and I just put a curt hitch on! So Im getting a trailer that is 15 inches to the coupler and 8 inches to the top of where the receiver goes in on my car! What would be the best set up for me to go with since this is a 7 inches rise? Thanks

I recommend looking at the Curt Class II Drawbar # C45028 for the 1-1/4 inch receiver opening on your 2014 VW Jetta Sedan. This ball mount provides the highest rise at 5-3/8 inches currently available on a ball mount that is compatible with Class I trailer hitches like what is installed on your vehicle.
This won't quite get you to the 7 inches needed to tow your trailer perfectly level, but it will be sufficient. I also recommend making sure you are correctly measuring for the needed rise. On the trailer hitch you will measure from the ground to the bottom of the receiver. On the trailer coupler, you will measure from the ground to the top of the coupler.
I have also attached an article on ball mounts that you might find helpful.
