To install a brake controller on your 2022 Honda Odyssey, you'll need to begin with a functional 4 pole trailer wiring harness. To determine which one you need, you'll need to look in the fuse panel located in the driver's side bulkhead in the cargo area at the rear of the vehicle. Check fuse locations # 10, 11 and 12. If those slots are pinned so fuses can be added, you'd use the # 118781 harness. If those slots are NOT pinned and no fuses can be installed at those locations, you'll instead want to use # 118753.
For a brake controller that's pretty simple to install that won't require running wire into the passenger compartment of the Odyssey or mounting an unsightly box to the underside of the dash, I'd recommend the Curt # C51180 Echo wireless brake controller. The Echo plugs inline between the 7-way and the trailer's 7-way pigtail and communicates via Bluetooth with your smart phone, and will allow you to control your trailer brakes using your phone without lots of complicated wiring.
To install the Echo, you'll also need an # ETBC7L install kit which will convert the 4 pole trailer connector to a 7-way. The kit also includes the necessary wire for the power feed that will need to be ran to the positive battery terminal.
