Question:

Looking to add a class 3 hitch and wiring harness to my 2015 Volvo XC70. I will be towing light trailers. Do you recommend the DrawTight or Curt hitch? Are any of the wiring kits superior to the others? I am most concerned about appearance and durability.

For your 2015 Volvo XC70 I would recommend the Curt # 13266 over the Draw-Tite # 75916. These trailer hitches have an almost identical design. Although the Draw-Tite has a higher towing capacity, it looks like both of the hitches exceed the towing capacity of your vehicle so you will be limited by your vehicle. I would double check the owner's manual to make sure.

Both have a concealed cross tube, so you will only see the receiver tube at the back of the vehicle giving it a factory look. The main reason I would choose the Curt is the gloss black powder coat finish. We have found that the Curt has a thicker finish when compared to Draw-Tite. This will do a better job protecting the hitch and also help keep up the appearance.

For wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118774 over the Hopkins # HM11143735 you were looking at. We have found Tekonsha to be the most reliable when it comes to wiring. This wiring harness plugs directly into existing wiring and will provide you with a 4-way connection at the back to power your trailer's signal lights.
