Removal of Interior Trim Panels and Installation of Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2015 Volvo XC70
Updated 06/26/2020 | Published 06/25/2020 >
Question:
The instructions say to route the T-One Connector with the red wire up the drivers side panel and over to the mating connector, without any suggestion as to how to remove the two plastic trim pieces that obviously have to be removed. How do I remove the trim pieces?

Our installers removed the rear cargo liner and routed the wire from one side of the vehicle to the other through the trunk and spare tire area.
The panel you have open in your photo should allow access to the back side of your taillights. There may be a small piece of foam you need to remove and replace when finished. Then you should be able to route the wires down the rear cargo area and to the other side. It would be handy to remove the spare tire and allow access to the grommet needed for routing a power wire to the vehicle battery as well.
I have included a photo, and have linked the installation video of a similar harness for your reference.
