Troubleshooting A Pace Edwards Switchblade Tonneau Cover That Does Not Retract

Question:
I just installed this. Got the rails mounted and square. The canister is not reteacting. Ive tried to make sure the rails are balanced and used the kick stands. What advice can you give ?

I spoke with a representative from Pace Edwards about your Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover - Aluminum and Vinyl - Black, part # 311-SWF7084, and he told me somethings you should double check.
1. There should be no more than 1/4" of side to side play on either side of the tonneu cover. This is play at the tailgate, the middle, and the bulk head of your truck. If you have more than 1/4" of play you will need to add shims to reduce the play.
2. Make sure your rails do not tilt upward or downward.
3. Lubricate the rails on the bottom.
The last thing he mentioned is that this tonneau cover is spring assisted, sometimes you might need to help it retract.
