hello, i have a 2018 dodge ram 2500, and have a pop up camper on it, my bed is 6.5 feet long but the camper is 8 feet long so the tail gate remains open all the time, i need to know what hitch step will hang out back so we have a step for the camper please advise and thanks

That will really depend on how long you are needing the step to be.

All of the hitch steps we offer are designed for 2" receivers, so to be able to use one of these with the 2-1/2" receiver on your 2018 Ram 2500 I first recommend the Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender # HR26 which will give you an extra 7" of extension. This extension has a max tongue weight capacity of 500lbs or reduces the capacities of your hitch by 1/3rd, which ever is lower but since your truck is a 2500 you should be able to use the full 500lb tongue weight rating of the extension

Then for a step the HitchMate TruckStep Extendable, Hitch Mounted Step # HE4045 which measures 20-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the front edge of the step, or the XL version # HE4037 which measures 29-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the front edge of the step should be just about right.
