Good afternoon Steve and congrats on the new truck! To flat tow a 2026 Ford Maverick Lariat, I recommend the following parts:

Tow Bar and Safety Chains - etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Blue Ox Base Plates item # e47ZR

Baseplate Kit - Blue Ox Base Plate Kit item # BLU94ER

Wiring Harness - Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles item # RM-15267

Supplemental Braking System - Curt RVi Series Shadow 2 Flat Tow Brake System item # RVI94FR. This system includes the required charge line you'll need to keep your Maverick's battery from dying on your trips. It also works great with the Maverick's hybrid brakes and is compatible with diesel motorhome braking systems. The convenient dash monitor gives you instant access to brake settings and voltage readings on your battery.

Stop Light Switch - Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit item # RM87GR

High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. I have linked a FAQ article that explains all this in more detail along with our selection of adapters.

What kind of motorhome do you have?

Thanks for the recommendations! I've got an old Jayco with electric brakes. Does the Curt RVi Series Shadow 2 only work with diesel motorhomes?

I'm a 75yr old mechanic I bought a 2025 Maverick XL to tow behind my 2005 26' Fleetwood Tioga on a E450 Super Duty chasis. Installed a Blue Ox BLU94ER Base Plate and 4 diode wiring kit for rear lights. I used a RVi3 brake system to do this I installed a dedicated power plug (the factory power outlet is not hot in tow mode) also installed charge line from coach to 12 volt battery A young man with experience could probably do the whole job in 8 hours I spent 3 days I also made a bracket that mounts on the front seat brackets to hold the brake controller in place as I didn't want to drill holes in my floor for the bracket that comes with the RVi Set up drives great the only time you notice it back there is when you corner too fast
