Comparing Curt and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receivers For 2021 Ford EcoSport

I have a 2021 Ford EcoSport and am looking for a trailer hitch receiver to carry a 2 bike rack that I have. I see that there is a Curt and Draw-Tite hitch available so which one should I go with?

You are correct that for your 2021 Ford EcoSport there are two trailer hitch receiver options, the Curt # C12188 and Draw-Tite # 36660.

First things first these hitches are very similar as they both share a similar design meaning they have roughly the same installation difficulty. Both hitches have a 1-1/4" receiver opening, and both also have the same 350lb tongue weight and 3,500lb trailer weight rating.

With that said I recommend going with the Draw-Tite # 36660 due to it not requiring an stabilization strap like the Curt # C12188 does to avoid voiding the warranty on the hitch.

To make sure your current bike rack will fit you will just need to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the bike rack. You will need to have a measurement of 4" or longer, and have a 1-1/4" shank. Most bike racks have a measurement of at least 4" so you should not have any issues.

I included a video of the Draw-Tite # 36660 being installed on an older EcoSport to give you an idea of what the installation process will entail.
