What can happen is that a 1.25 hitch receiver does not always measure exactly 1.25 inches by 1.25 inches. There is a manufacturing tolerance involved that allows the receiver to be a few hundredths of an inches larger or smaller than 1.25 inches, but still be within tolerance. Due to the fact that the connection between a hitch receiver and the shank of a ball mount or hitch mounted accessory is not meant to be a precision fit. Sometimes the hitch opening will be smaller while the shank of the accessory is larger and it can be a very tight fit.
Wobbles a little in the receiver.
This is my third purchase in 3 months from e-trailer and each one has been an excellent customer experience with a high quality product. Keep up that efficient service!

Rattles a lot when loaded…fine when nothing is attached.
I have a bike rack and hitch mount that have a 2 inch mount but only a 1 1/4 receiver on my car so this solved the problem and works great.
I put a 1.25" trailer hitch on a Ford Fusion Hybrid so I could mount one of my cargo baskets that require a 2" hitch on it. It worked fine to allow for this.
Product works after many attempts to rubber mallet it into the 1 1/4 inch receiver. The paint was so thick that I couldn’t push it in by hand. Some WD 40 and mallet smacks later, it not slides in, but still needs to be tapped out with the mallet. More annoying than anything else.

Sometimes what happens during the powder coat process is that the paint is put on a little thick, which can cause the application to not fit properly. We recommend lightly sanding the adapter where it is not fitting and then covering it with a rustoleum type of paint.
The adapter didn't come with a bolt in order to attach it to the hitch. Very disappointing. Now I have to find a bolt that will fit. I should've been informed that the bolt was sold separately.

The holes do not line up with the receiver on the car.
Don’t like the finish. Thought I was getting a Curt made in the USA. This one’s made in China.
It is great. Just wish the hitch came with it. I had to go to the local hardware to get one.

Don't buy this one. Spend a little more and get the "CURT" or "BROPHY" adapter. The welded joint between the 2 pieces of square channel is Stacked with an excessive amount of weld making the pinholes not line up. This makes the 1-1/4" to 2" hitch receiver adapter unusable. The Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Perfect fit allows use of 2” bike rack and canoe holder.
I was advised by etrailer that $[XX] would be deducted from my refund for a return. Instead, checking my credit card account, I see that nearly $[XX] was deducted, to return a non oepned item. This is absurd. I won't be using etrailer for anything ever again .

I would not recommend welding the hitch adapter to the hitch. Instead, I recommend using an anti-rattle device like part # RM-061-125 to make it fit tighter in the receiver.
