Do I Need to Replace My Progressive Dynamics Converter?
Published 09/22/2021 >
Question:
We replaced the converter with the PD4560CSV, some time passed and everything was working great, but recently we moved our camper and the power seemed to be flashing on and off. the entire camper then it went out and nothing would happen. Would this be the converter?

I spoke with Progressive Dynamics and they said it is most likely one of 3 things that has happened. First and foremost will be a bad ground somewhere. A bad ground can cause any number of weird things to happen and this definitely qualifies. You will need to check all your grounds as they will all correspond with the electrical system and just one that has gone bad or detached can be the cause of all your woes.
Next, you will need to measure the AC voltage coming into the camper and converter. If there is no power going to it, it isn't the converter and you will need to follow that power line to see if there is a break or short that occurred.
Lastly, if all this tests good, then the # PD4560CSV has gone bad and will need to be replaced. They said to check the DC output voltage at the converter's DC fuse board and if there is no power coming from here but there is power going into the AC side, it is indeed bad.
