Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Furrion Chill replacement black 13,500 BTU high efficiency RV roof air conditioner unit. Now, this is going to be a great option for you to consider if you're looking to replace your RV's air conditioner that uses the more energy efficient R-32 refrigerant that meets the 2025 EPA regulations. So, this air conditioner will work with your existing R-32 compliant Furrion setup, but please be aware of the fact that this will, this is not backwards compatible. So, this is not going to work with air conditioning systems from 2024 and earlier.
So, because this is just an air conditioner unit, you will need an electronic control air distribution box with an electronic controller and thermostat, or a manual control air distribution box with manual controller. Those items, the air distribution boxes and the controller and the thermostat, all of those items will have to be R-32 compliant. Just so you're aware of that. Again, this will not be backwards compatible. Now, a heat strip is available as a separate option to this unit as well, and we do have that heat strip available here at etrailer.com.
But this does have a streamlined aerodynamic design that's gonna do a great job of resisting air drag, and it's going to cut down on fuel costs. While looking pretty modern, this design not only is going to enhance the RV's appearance, but it also helps contribute a little bit to better gas mileage. So again, this is going to be a 13,500 BTU per hour air conditioner. So, this is gonna be perfect for like your medium to large travel trailers, your class C motor homes, and your standard fifth wheels. And this unit does efficiently cool spaces between 200 to 300 square feet.
So, that's going to ensure that you and your family enjoy comfort no matter how high the temperature climbs outside. This will be compatible with ducted or ductless systems. Again, that's going to be dependent upon what type of air distribution box you have or you will get. This will be a bolt-on insulation. But again, hardware is not included with this.
The hardware will be included with your air distribution box. And just looking at some overall measurements, just to kinda give you an idea of the size of the unit itself. Looking at the overall width, we're sitting right at 27 9/16th inches wide. The overall height about 13 9/16th inches tall. The overall length from front to back about 34 13/16th inches long. This unit weighs about 75 pounds or so. And this is engineered with dual fans, which is going to enhance the cooling efficiency and that's gonna help reduce operating noise. The dual fan design in this unit moves cold air into the RV while at the same time circulating air around the primary fan. So, that's gonna help reduce heat generated from operating the air conditioner and help increase the air flow. Now, something that I really appreciate about this unit is it does include a start capacitor. Not all air conditioners have a start capacitor. Sometimes campsites or generators just can't give you the power needed for cooling on demand. So, the built-in start capacitor in this unit is going to give you that extra boost to jumpstart the air conditioner. So, you're never gonna be left without relief from the heat even at lower power levels at your campsite. Inside there are rubber dampeners on the compressor that's going to significantly reduce vibration and noise level. So, this means that you're gonna be able to enjoy peaceful nights without the background hum that typically accompanies running air conditioning units at the campsite on RVs. So, this does feature this UV-resistant black cover that's going to protect the internal components from water and debris. And it's gonna be able to be easily removed if you ever need to do any cleaning or maintenance. There's a Phillips head screws all around that's secured in place. So, you just need to remove the screws, you can pop the cover off, do whatever maintenance you need to do, replace the cover, replace the screws, and you can go on down the road. There are foam pads at the base, so you're gonna have foam pads in between the unit and the roof of your camper or R, so you do have that insulation there and it's gonna again help reduce noise. I do wanna see if I can show you the wiring harness real quick. It is going to be tucked in underneath the unit and you're just gonna pull this through the opening. So, hopefully you can see that plug there. And so, the wiring harness is included and you'll just plug that into your controller, in your RV. Instructions will also be included to guide you through the installation process. We do also have this available in a 15,000 BTU unit and a white cover as well. So, if you're looking for a little more BTU power or a different color, we do have those other options available here at etrailer.com. If you do decide to pick this up, we would love to hear back from you regarding your experience with getting this installed and using this.
