Features to know about

Higher-Output Cooling for Hot RV Days

When your RV has been sitting in the sun all afternoon, the cabin can hold heat in the roof, walls, furniture, and cabinets long after the outside temperature starts to drop. This GE Appliances Deluxe Plus rooftop AC gives you 15,000 Btu of cooling capacity, making it a strong option when you want more cooling output than a standard 13,500 Btu unit. It is made for compatible GE R32 ducted or ductless systems, so you can match the rooftop unit to the interior setup that fits your RV.

Built for Sun, Travel, and Vibration

GE black AC

Rooftop equipment has to deal with road vibration, outdoor storage, sun exposure, and changing weather. This AC uses an automotive-grade polymer shroud with a glossy, UV-resistant finish to help resist cracking, warping, and sun damage over time. GE also builds durability into the unit with corrosion-resistant coatings, heavy-duty motor support brackets, reinforced screw holes, and vibration control testing, helping the AC hold up to regular RV travel.

Quieter Cooling Inside the Coach

A rooftop AC should cool the RV without making every conversation, movie, or night of sleep revolve around the noise overhead. This unit uses a high-performance motor with sound-dampening rubber grommets to help reduce noise and vibration through the coach. That helps the cabin feel more relaxed while the AC is working to keep the temperature comfortable.

Match It to the Right GE R32 Setup

This is the rooftop AC unit only, so it requires compatible GE R32 interior components to complete installation. Depending on your RV layout, that may include the correct GE ceiling assembly, control box, thermostat, or air distribution components for a ducted or non-ducted setup. It is not backward compatible with GE AC systems from 2024 and earlier, so confirm your current system before swapping the unit in. The unit is designed for roofs 2" to 6" thick and a 14-3/8" x 14-3/8" cutout.

Installation and Fit Details to Know

If you're comparing models and wondering what will actually fit, this unit is designed around the roof openings used by most RVs. In many cases, that means working with existing cutouts rather than planning changes to your camper. The rooftop unit pairs with a compatible R32 air distribution box, thermostat, and controls, which are sold separately, so you can build the setup that makes sense for your rig. Exact measurements and compatibility details are listed in the specs to help you confirm fit before moving forward. If you'd rather just purchase a complete kit, check out our selection of Complete AC Systems.

A/C works great. Easy install.

Worked great. Easy install

by:

Service was very good

by:

It's not cooling

by:

Great AC/Heat Pumps unit, much more efficient and quieter than my old Dometic AC.
I would have liked there to be a mounting option that didn't require an air distribution box as my Fifth-Wheel does not have one, which created a complication during install. Aside from that, the install was fine, and it's been running well.

We replaced the standard GE A/C on our '22 Grand Design 22MLE with this after the Wago connector shorted out and caused a fire in the unit's control box. I probably didn't need to replace the whole unit because the damage was confined to just the control box and the wires to the A/C were spared.
The replacement went really smoothly. We used a ladder leaned on the roof of the camper at a low slope and made a plywood "sled" with blocks on the side to keep it on the ladder to pull the units up and down from the roof.
There was a glitch where the DC fuse to the unit was blown (they were mislabeled) and two white wires were tucked up in the unit that need to connect to the control box. GE tech help was very patient and understanding in helping me figure it out.
The people at etrailer are very nice and I do most of my business with them. They are always very knowledgeable of the products and make sure you get the right product.
The GE Heat Pump works great in all modes.

NOTE: We just installed the SoftStartRV from eTrailer and the unit is much quieter on start-up now. I suggest just getting it with the heat pump.
We are running the camper on a Craftsman 2500 watt generator (Generac) now.

Package showed up on time and works better than the one it replaced when it was new.

by:

Can't really let you know of the product until I put it on the roof. I can only hope it lasts and outperforms it predecessor which only made it 2 years and 6-7 uses. Very disappointing. As for the assistance from the etrailer staff, it was fantastic. Great advice and all had uplifting personalities. Thank you.

Works Great

by:

We had this unit installed yesterday, and today we’re trying it out for the first time. Blowing nice cold air and hopefully it’ll give us a number of years of good service.

by:

Quick shipping and ac works great so far

by:

Plug and play, if you can read a schematic or have a general knowledge of electrical systems. If you are replacing an R410a system, buy the control box and thermostat too. As for eTrailer, I will be buying from them again. Shipping is fast and very reasonable, and they have always had every part I have needed in stock.

by:

It fit in place of the original hole. The wiring harness was different from the original harness, so I had to splice the new wires onto to the old quick connect. All the wires matched up. also there is a different freeze connection. I had to take the 2 white wires and splice them into the old blue wires for the freeze sensor. The other 2 wires were not needed because I did not get the heat pump unit.

  • Is a New Thermostat Required When Installing a GE AC Unit?
Hey Tim, thanks for reaching out! If you're replacing a GE AC unit, then the GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC # GE64FR will work with your thermostat, but if you're replacing a different brand of AC with this GE, then we'll need to get you a whole kit. You'll need the kit # GE35ZR if you have a ducted system (like in your house) or the kit # GE72ZR if you have a ductless system. What AC unit are you replacing?

  • Solution for Needing Replacement GE 15k BTU RV AC Unit
Hey Bob, you will want a kit that includes everything including the air box and new thermostat because this year all of the RV AC Units had to move to a new refrigerant and that means the older lower vent assemblies do not work with the current upper assemblies. So you would need a kit like the part # GE35ZR which comes with those components. The thermostat does have ability to control a furnace as well.

  • Solution for Needing Replacement GE Upper RV AC Unit ARC15AACBL2
Hey Todd, so you will need to replace your entire system unfortunately because your system is currently using an outdated refrigerant and the current upper unit replacements will not work with your lower vent assembly because of this. As of January of 25' all AC units have to be used with the current refrigerant and are not backwards compatible. So what you'd want is the part # GE34RR which comes with everything and is a 15k BTU black GE AC unit like you are looking for.

  • Will Current GE Deluxe Plus RV AC Unit Replace Older Model
Hey Cameron, the GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC # GE64FR that you referenced is very similar to what you have but since there was a law change that requires a new refrigerant your current lower vent assembly would not work with this unit or any other unit made currently so you'd need to replace the entire thing like with the part # GE35ZR for a ducted setup or the part # GE72ZR for a ductless setup.

  • Is the 15K Btu GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC the Same as AR15AACW
Hey Vince, thanks for reaching out! Yes, the GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC # GE64FR is the same as the AR15AACW, just in black instead of white. Let me know if you have any other questions!

  • Replacement AC for a GE AC Unit Model ARC13AACBL2
Hey Eric, thanks for the information! Your older GE ARC13AACBL2 with 410a refrigerant is not going to be compatible with any AC components that came out this year. Everything has the new R32 refrigerant now so it's made all the 410a systems and components obsolete. I recommend upgrading your entire system now because spare parts for the old 410a systems are not going to be around long and you won't be able to source replacements down the road. Here are the options I have to replace your...

  • Do I Have to Replace the Thermostat When I Replace the Control Board on a GE AC System?
Yes, you will Karen. Since you added the GE Appliances RV AC Control Board item # GE27FR you'll need the Single Zone Smart Thermostat for GE Appliances RV ACs item # GE29FR. This is designed to work with the systems that have the new R32 refrigerant. What of trailer or motorhome do you have?

  • Can Dometic Duo Therm RV AC Unit be Replaced with GE Appliances Deluxe AC
Hey Keolaokalani, you can install a 15k BTU GE RV AC unit in your Coachman Catalina but you'll have to replace everything to do so with the part # GE44RR as just the top unit you mentioned is not compatible with the Dometic lower vent assembly you have now. There isn't a reliable way to mix and match AC unit upper and lower units is why.

  • Can RV AC Unit Install on Sloped Roof
Hey Marcus, so RV AC units need to sit as close to level as possible to ensure that the drains can function properly as well as make sure the oil in the unit can get everywhere it needs to within the AC. Normally the acceptable out of level range is up to 5 degrees either way and you'll be fine. Looking at your picture there's a pretty good chance you are fine but I would grab a level and put it on there and see exactly the level. Your smart phone might have a level on it as well that...

  • Is GE RV Air Distribution Box GE49FR Compatible with GEDeluxe Plus RV AC GE64FR ?
Hey Kalan, appreciate you reaching out! The GE Deluxe Plus RV AC # GE64FR is compatible with GE air distribution box # GE49FR, which is a non-ducted ceiling assembly with manual controls. This setup is intended for RVs without ducted air systems, where the air blows directly into the living space. As long as your RV uses a non-ducted setup, these two components will work together. Are you typically on longer trips or occasional weekend stays?

  • Recommended Replacement AC System for a GE ARH15AACBL2 AC Unit
Hey Tim welcome back! Your ARH15AACBL2 GE AC unit has the old 410a refrigerant in it so the GE Appliances item # GE64FR you were looking at isn't going to work as a replacement. The EPA mandated R32 refrigerant has been used in all new AC's since Jan 2025 and none of the components are backwards compatible. To replace your ARH15AACBL2 you'll need to get an entire new setup including an air distribution box. I highly recommend the ducted GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC System w/ Heat Pump...

  • Parts Needed to Install GE RV AC Unit in Non-Ducted Application
Hey Sam, the GE RV AC unit part # GE64FR will work great for you but it does not come with an air box so you would also need to order the part # GE49FR for a complete RV AC unit that is controllable with the air box that installs in the ceiling. All you need are just these two part numbers. How did you like your previous AC unit before it stopped working?
