The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56403 is a custom fit wiring harness that will plug into the connector for your tail light wiring with one end of the T-Connector and the other directly into your tail lights. This design will prevent you from having to splice into any of your vehicle's wires to install. You will have to run a power wire from the control module directly to your battery along with the included in-line fuse holder to protect your equipment. I've attached a video where Ryan will walk you through the steps of installing the # C56403 on your 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan.

If you don't already have a trailer hitch I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e43ZR. This class 3 hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight capacity of 3,500lbs and maximum tongue weight capacity of 525lbs. (Note: you'll need to verify what the GTW and TW of your vehicle is and go with the lowest rated number) It is a bolt-on installation and has a matte black powder coat finish over protective base coat to offer superior rust resistance.

Note: Hands-free Liftgate sensor areas may be limited to areas away from the center where hitch receiver opening is located.

You can also use the Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat # 18144 to mount your 4-pole connector to your hitch for easy access.
