PEX Connection for Seaflo Diaphragm Pump Variable Flow, # SE96FR

Question:

Will 1/2” PEX water line connect to the provided connections to the pump?

The Seaflo Diaphragm Pump for Boats and RVs - Variable Flow, # SE96FR has connections that allow it to connect to 1/2" lines but it does not come with a PEX ready fitting. I have contacted the Vendor to discuss options and they informed me that while some customers have successfully made connection to PEX, it is not designed for this intent. The barbed fitting has the correct dimensions but not quit at the needed rigidity of wall thickness. Some have used the Replacement Fitting for Seaflo Diaphragm Water Pumps, # SE43FR but needed to go through several attempts before being successful. This is designed for a typical gear type hose clamp or use an oetiker type clamp. The oetiker style being the preferred/recommended type clamp.
