A water pump is needed to get the water from your RV or boat's fresh water holding tank up to your faucets. This automatic pump from Seaflo not only performs this task, but it also ensures a consistent flow and high-volume output for up to 2 fixtures. This means that you can run your shower and your kitchen faucet at the same time without losing pressure. It's also energy efficient and runs quietly.

Seaflo pumps for RV fixtures

No-Mess Self-Priming

There are 2 types of pumps you can get for your RV: one that requires manually priming every time you run your fresh water tank dry, and one that primes automatically. Manual priming requires that you pour water into the pump, which can be inconvenient and messy. This pump primes itself, keeping you and your RV clean and dry.

Worry-Free Operation

Seaflo uses an automatic start-and-stop pressure switch that lets the pump run dry long enough to self-prime. If you turn your water on and realize you've unknowingly run your fresh water tank dry, the pump can run dry without damage while you shut the faucet and the pump off. The pressure switch also protects the pump motor from overheating when the water has been on for a while. So, if one of your kids leaves the faucet on, you're going to town with the washdown hose, or your teen takes a long shower (despite your asking them to conserve water), the pump will kick off when it starts to get hot. Once the motor has cooled, it will automatically come back on if the faucet or shower is still turned on.

To use this pump once it's installed, you only have to turn the water on!

Quick Tips: Some of our neighbors suggest unplugging this pump when you're traveling to prevent it from turning on accidentally if your faucets shake. And some of our feline-loving friends also recommend unplugging the unit any time you leave your cats unsupervised.

Installation

This pump can be installed on the floor, under a cabinet, or on the wall. Because this pump has a vertical, priming lift, you can install it up to 6' above your fresh water tank. Just make sure to measure 6' from the bottom of your holding tank. This is where the intake fitting will sit. Remember that this pump plugs into a standard, 115V wall outlet, so be sure there's one nearby.

Pump feet and mounting pattern

Once you've determined the pump's location, it can be secured to its new home with 4 screws (not included).

Filter

A filter is included to prevent debris from entering the pump. To install this, just screw it inline with the inlet port.

The fittings on the pump are male NPT ports. Screw the 1/2"-14 NPT hose barbs onto the pump fittings. The hose barb fittings have wingnuts to make it easy to turn the fittings by hand. Once you have the tubing (sold separately) in place on the hose barbs, add hose clamps (sold separately) for extra security.

Fill your fresh water tank, turn your water faucet on to clear the lines of air, and plug in the Seaflo pump. It should kick on immediately, but because self-priming can take up to a minute to complete, give it a little time to start producing water at the faucet.

About 4 months of use and the main seal gutted and spewed water out of the drive shaft. Got a new pump and it has been going strong for 6 months now.

Great pump. I use it as a transfer pump to pressurize a garden hose with water from the spigot of my rain harvesting barrels. Works great for on demand water pressure.

by:

Great aux pump for an RV. Love it. Forms the 120v is best because we can use it when needed and the plug in the RV is GFCI. When we don’t need it just leave it unplugged.

The pumped worked well but only lasted about 6 months. After doing more research on these type of pumps, I found they have an internal thermostat that will shut the unit down. In my case, it apparently got hot enough to shut it down completely. It had been completely off for two weeks and when I turned it on, it ran for about 2-3 minutes (just long enough to fill our two campers w water) and then it went dead. We had the pump in a container to keep it out of weather, and we had holes in the container so the pump could have a release for heat when running. We must have needed more air holes because it quit running. We purchased another one, and we’ve modified our container, and so far this one is running great. We use this pump for campers at our hunting camp. So it will set for weeks at times without power, but once hunting season starts we use it weekly.

  • What is Difference Between Seaflow Water Pumps # SE57FR and the # SE96FR
Hey Chuck, the big difference between the SeaFlo water pumps part # SE57FR and the # SE96FR is that the # SE57FR is designed to run on 12 volt power like from a battery and the part # SE96FR instead runs on AC power and would plug into a wall outlet. Aside from that the specs are pretty similar. What type of electric power do you have available for a water pump?

  • Recommended 115v Powered Water Pump w/a Plug-In Cord
Hey Ned. The Seaflo Diaphragm Pump for Boats and RVs item # SE96FR is going to be the best option for a 115v pump. None of our pumps come with an on/off switch on the power cord though. This is a three gallon per minute pump with a 1/2"-14 male NPT inlet and outlet. You can connect garden hoses to it but you'll need to source a couple adapters from your local hardware store. This is a self-priming pump so it'll work great to transfer water from a container to your RV. The Seaflo Diaphragm...

  • Does RV Water Pump Require Turning Off and On Manually
Hey Diane, so what activates the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump for Boats and RVs # SE96FR is same as other RV water pumps and that's a drop in water pressure like when a faucet is opened. So this may not be an ideal solution for you but it would require basically cutting power to it any time you wanted to turn it off since it wouldn't ever have water pressure built up due to lack of faucet.

  • What Is The Max Amp Draw For The Seaflo Diaphragm Pump SE96FR?
Hey Mike, good eye! I double checked with Seaflo and they confirm the # SE96FR Diaphragm Pump draws approximately 1 amp max. The typical current draw is around 0.75 amps under normal operation with a maximum draw up to about 1.2 amps when the pressure switch kicks in. I am not sure why our page says 8 amps but this is incorrect. I will work on getting this fixed.

  • Can a Seaflow 12 Volt Water Pump Be Adapted To Run Off 110 Volt Power?
If you would like to adapt the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump # SE24FR to run on 110 volt power you will need to find a power converter that is capable of putting out at least 15amps of 12 volt power. We have larger units like the Progressive Dynamics RV Converter # PD49RR that puts out 30amps of 12 volt power. You can also select the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump # SE96FR that has the same connectors as the other pump but is wired for 110 volt power.

  • Suitable Mounting Location Requirements For Seaflo Diaphragm Pumps
The Seaflo Diaphragm Pump # SE96FR needs to be mounted in a dry location. There also needs to be adequate ventilation so that to ensure the internal thermal breaker doesn't interrupt operation. I would not mount it underneath your camper or inside a watertight box. You can mount the pump in virtually any orientation, but if you mount it vertically the head of the pump must be in the down position.
