Question:
I want to purchase a new awning, but am concerned that the mounting is different from the OEM model. I have an aluminum sided trailer with wood studs. do I have to screw into the studs or just the siding?

The awning of the Solera 12V XL Power RV Awning # LCV000334966-362243 will fit into the manufacturer awning rail installed on your Springdale Travel Trailer. If your trailer does not have a rail installed you can use the Solera Awning Rail Extrusion # LC715217 and install it with some butyl tape # 344270341411-1 and self-tapping screws.
When installing the arms you'll want to use the provided self tapping screws and screw into the studs to ensure a secure fit. There is quite a bit of leverage with the awning extended so you'll want to make sure it's not just being held in by the thin sidewall of your camper.
The exception to this is if you're installing a slide out topper awning which will have the brackets screwed the sidewall of the slide out just below the flange. If you need a slide out topper for your slide out then just reply back with the measurement from outside edge of the flange to the outside edge of the other flange and I can find the correct fit for you.
