Question:
Hey all, really enjoying your site and all the info you provide! Looking at installing a Redarc Towpro electric brake controller. Wondering what mounting plate would be best for the location I want to put it. I see one individual posted pics of where I want to mount it they are attached but wondering if that is the mounting plate that fits the best. Basically I want to take out the 12v power outlet and place the Redarc in its place. Any help on the best sized mounting plate would be appreciated. Thank you!

I have a solution for you, however, there are not any custom-fit brackets to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR or Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR into your 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 so you will want to go with a universal mount such as the Universal Mounting Panel # 331-TPSI-001. This fits on panels up to 9/32" thick. To use this, you would need to drill out a 25mm hole in which the mounting panel can be installed into. Then you can thread-in the brake controller; this is the kit that is used in the photos you attached.
If you haven't decided on which Redarc controller to go with, I recommend the Elite # RED44FR. This has an integrated user-control mode which is great for off-road situations or snow and ice. The Liberty does not have this feature. To install one of these controllers you will also need harness # 331-TPH-010.
