Does Install of Camco Replacement Gaskets for RV Sewer Hose Fittings # CAM39834 Require Adhesive

Question:
The new connecter gasket fits on the inside connecter for the RV Sewer hose but fall off when I disconnect the hose from the unit. Is the new gasket supposed to be installed with any adhesive to hold it in place?
