Installing Ladder Rack On 2021 Ford F150 With Bakflip Tonneau Cover

Hi, I have a F150 short bed with a bakflip tonneau cover and I also have an existing Yakima system with 70inch Jetstream bars from a different vehicle. Wanted to install system on truck bed sides and wanted to know if this was possible to do with the tracks if I have the right components. thanks

I believe you are wanting to install a truck bed roof rack on your 2021 Ford F-150 short bed while keeping your Bakflip tonneau cover installed. If so, then you will want to go with a different rack as the Yakima system you currently have is not made to attach to this tonneau cover or the side rails of your truck bed.

Instead, I recommend going with Adarac Pro Series Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack which can be found in Silver # A4000964 or Black # A86RR. This is a roof rack system that attaches to the truck bed side rails and is compatible with your Bakflip tonneau cover, so you wouldn't have to remove your cover. A nice feature is the integrated channel on top of the crossbars which allows fitment of channel-mount accessories like Load Stops # A4000880 or Tie-Downs # A4000882. Andrew, I have a Bakflip bed cover on my 2019Tundra TRD Pro with the 5.5 inch bed. Is there a ladder rack system for this set up that will not require altering or trimming the Bakflip cover?

@DavidJ Hey there, you can go with a variety of ladder racks, longs as they mount on the bed rails and not inside the bed rails. The Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack - 1,250 lbs # TH97RV is a really nice premium option. It has rails that slide to adjust distance between them, and there are t slots on top of the crossbars for accessories. If you want something more budget friendly, the Adarac Aluminum Series Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Silver - 500 lbs # A4001665 is a another great option. It's not adjustable, but it does have an accessory track on top.

@AndrewN If I go with the THule #TH97RV will I need to trim the edges of the Bakflip cover in order to attach the sliding rails to the bed rails on my truck?
