Question:
Which is the one for my 2017 ford explorer easy hook up
asked by: Robert H
Expert Reply:
The 4-flat wiring harness that is super easy to install for your 2017 Ford Explorer is from Curt, with the correct fit being the following:
- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56172
This will just plug into the factory port under your '17 Explorer, as you can see by the linked installation video I added for you below. The install really couldn't be easier, and the only thing I highly recommend, in order to prevent corrosion to increase the connector's durability and extend its lifespan is Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors # 11755.
You will also need mounting brackets, which depend on the hitch you have. If you go with the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 76034, which has an extension to mount a bracket, you only need the Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat # 18144.
If you go with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13386 you will need Bracket # 18144 with the No-Drill Mount for Electrical Mounting Bracket # 18140.
