Question:
What is the difference is between the 13355, 13359, and 13038? All 3 come up as choices for my 1999 F-150 XL Flareside. I cant find any differences listed on the Curt website either. I can see they all look different, and the 13359 is exposed, but is there a reason to get one vs the other?

The only differences in the 3 Curt Trailer Hitch Receivers # 13355, # C13038 and # 13359 for your 1999 Ford F-150 XL Flairside, is the construction and shape of the receiver cross tube and mounting plates. Of these 3 I would choose the Receiver # C13038.
The reason I prefer the Receiver # C13038 is its basic design. The cross tube is straight steel square tubing, this is much stronger than tubing that has a bend in it and the welding area of the square tubing is more than the same outer diameter round tubing. Second the mounting plates are not notched out in the middle as much as the other mounting brackets as well which I feel is stronger.
All three of the receivers use the same mounting locations and have the same weight ratings of 600lbs tongue weight and 6,000lbs trailer weight. The capacity increases to 1,000lbs tongue weight and 10,000lbs of trailer weight when you use a weight distribution hitch.
