In regards to the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit part # BLU49FR which is a fit for a 2022 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, you do have to trim the fascia to allow the tabs to protrude through but this is standard practice for the vast majority of base plate kits and everyone for this vehicle. That said, you're only trimming a small portion. The instructions indicate to hold the fascia up to the vehicle with the base plate installed and make your marks that way to ensure as little material as possible is removed.
