Question:
I was at a stop light in my 2008 Honda pilot and began forward when the light changed.the vehicle stated fine then quickly lost momentum.the engine was revving but I was just coasting.after the stop I noticed all the transmission fluid under the vehicle.looked at the unit and saw that the hose was off.what cam this loss of fluid do to the transmission while it is in drive but not moving..motor running?

It really is hard to say, your best bet would be to repair the line if you have not already. Fill the transmission up with the appropriate amount of fluid and then take it to a transmission repair shop to have them check it out.
Hopefully you get lucky, but there could be a wide range of potential internal problems depending on how long the vehicle was attempted to be driven and the temperature of the transmission.
