Expert Reply:
Both the AWD and FWD 2021 Chevy Traverse can be flat towed. You will want to follow the steps listed in your owner's manual under "Dingy Towing" to properly setup your vehicle to be flat towed. You will also need a tow bar, tow bar wiring kit, base plate, braking system, and safety cables. I have the following recommendations for you:
Tow Bar: Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000lbs Item # RM-522.
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit Item # RM-15267. This kit will splice into your vehicle's wiring and use your vehicle's tail lights to signal instead of running magnetic lights to the rear of the vehicle every time you want to tow.
Base Plate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms Item # RM-523200-5. This base plate will work with your vehicle whether it comes with or without adaptive cruise control and the direct-connect arms are easily removed when not in use to provide a clean unobtrusive look.
Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional Item # HM39524. This system is a reoccurring setup but only takes a few minutes and comes with an included charge line kit that will keep your vehicle's battery charged while towing.
Safety Cables: Curt Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables with S-Hooks - 42" Long - 5,000lbs - Qty 2 Item # C80151. The coiled design will help prevent the cables from dragging on the ground and being damaged.
