When you’re not towing, this setup keeps your vehicle looking clean and stock. The hidden design means no bulky brackets stick out past the bumper. The removable arms twist out easily, leaving only smooth receiver openings. Snap-in receiver covers keep dirt and debris out of the sockets so everything stays clean and ready for the next trip.
Each arm slides into the base plate receiver, twists to lock, and secures with a pin. When it’s time to unhook, just pull the pin, rotate, and slide them out. It’s a simple, reliable motion that makes connecting quick whether you’re in your driveway or at the campground. Factory specs list a 30" distance between brackets and a 15-1/2" bracket height, so you can easily match up your tow bar setup.
This base plate bolts directly to your chassis—no welding required—and spreads towing forces evenly across the frame to help prevent suspension stress. The durable steel build is powder coated to resist rust and corrosion, holding up trip after trip through rough weather and long hauls.
If you already have a tow bar setup you like, this base plate can work with it. It pairs directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure hookup. It’s also adaptable for use with Roadmaster tow bars when paired with adapter RM-031 or RM-031-5, or with Demco tow bars using adapter DM9523041 (sold separately). Integrated mounting points make it easy to attach an electrical connector plug bracket for a tidy wiring setup.

Its been two years since installation of the Blue Ox Baseplate. Since then, Ive flat towed the CRV from NJ to FL and back three separate times with many other shorter trips in between. Paired with a Blue Ox Tow Bar, the system has worked flawlessly since installation.

Follow up. Ive put about 8000 miles on the setup and its been great. A 34 ton suburban pulls nicely behind my Dutch star, and they dont have a steering lock so its nice not to have to retrieve keys when stopping for the night. I have used the safety cable attachment a few times for straight line pulls with a small shackle when working as a rally racing volunteer, its been fine but I wouldnt side pull on it.

It has been a good system. I would still give it 4 stars a year later just because it was a difficult job to install. Not for the faint of heart. So far have about 6k miles of towing with it. Would I do it again….Yes as it was worth the effort.
