So the external sensor error code you are getting on your Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric 5th Wheel RV Leveling System w Touchpad and Remote - 4-Point Set # LC358590 means that there is a bad connection or bad wiring from the controller to the rear sensor.

The rear sensor will be located directly in the center of the trailer towards the back. Check the sensor and wires running to the sensor for any damage or loose connections. Also check that the connector does not have corrosion or debris inside causing the error code.

Next check the connection from the rear sensor to the back of the controller.

If it all checks out, then use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to check that you are getting power to the rear sensor with the system turned on. If you are not getting power, then there is a short somewhere in the wiring that you will need to track down and repair.

If the sensor is getting power and all of the above items check out, then the sensor is bad and will need to be replaced. You can order a new sensor directly through Lippert.

I included a video of the # LC358590 for you to take a look at.
