The "external sensor" error you're getting on the display of your Lippert leveling system like the Ground Control # LC358590 indicates an issue with the rear leveling sensor. This particular sensor should be located a few feet behind the rearmost axle of your trailer.

Once you find the sensor visually inspect it to make sure it's still securely connected - the most common cause of this error is a weak connection. Check for any corrosion or debris that might be triggering the error, cleaning out as needed. If this doesn't resolve the issue then it could just be a bad sensor that needs to be replaced.

Please let me know what you find and we can go from there!

I reached out to my contact at Lippert to try and dig a bit further into the issue you're having. He said there are a couple of things you can do, one of which you've already done, to try and rule out or verify that rear sensor as being the problem. First he said to check power continuity leading up to the sensor. With a circuit tester try and verify that you are getting power on the wiring leading up to the sensor when operating the system. If you don't get power then the issue is actually somewhere else, likely with a short in the wiring (damaged, pinched, or exposed portions that need to be replaced). If you do get power though then the sensor just needs to be replaced, which Lippert can supply directly. The other step he mentioned was to locate and inspect the sensor itself to make sure it's still securely mounted and facing the right direction, which you've already accomplished based on your picture.

Mine says same thing. Mine has a belly under trl. It’s a landmark. Is the sensor under that?

I have power to the rear sensor. I've checked the entire wire for a pinch or mice. All good, so I replaced the rear sensor and still get the same fault code. External sensor
