1987 Chevy C10 Trailer Hitch Fit

I measured my frame rail and the factory holes are 17” from front to back and the last hole to the elongated hole is 9 5/8. So the front hole to the elongated hole is 7 3/8. The 40050 seem to not fit with the factory holes. What do you recommend?

The Draw-Tite Class III hitch, part # 40050 is a multi fit hitch that fits many different full-sized trucks. Drilling is required for installation as it's not possible to have all the holes match up to all the different GM, Ford and Dodge trucks the hitch will fit. The same would hold true for all the hitches available for your truck.

The # 40050 is listed as a fit for long bed 2wd models of the 1987 Chevy C10.

We have hitches that fit your 1985 Chevy C10 that has a deep bumper with the Curt hitch part #C13099. Your setup would definitely not be too low to tow with. A rise ball mount would make up for a lower hitch as well. I attached a help article
