Side Plate and Bolt Hole Spacing Measurements for Curt Trailer Hitch # C14082

Updated 08/04/2025 | Published 02/08/2017

Question:

Can you tell me the length of the side plates and the bolt spacing? Is the cross bar 3inch x 3? My RV frame measures 34inch from outside edge to outside edge. Ive researched the weld-on hitches and they would interfere with body mounts located on the outside of the frame rails..

I went out to the warehouse to take some measurements of Curt trailer hitch # C14082. I made a picture showing the measurements for you.

The bolt holes, starting from the one furthest forward on the vehicle, measures 2-3/4 inches to the center of the next hole.

The center of the second hole to the center of the round clearance hole is 2 inches.

And from the center of that round clearance hole to the center of the last hole is 1-5/16 inches.

The crosstube is 2-1/2 inches square.

The tops of the side plates are 9-3/4 inches long. The overall length is 11-3/8 inches.

@AaronE The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C14082 is designed to fit a outer frame with of 34". More importantly the center of the mounting holes are 31-1/4" on center. You will want to check that your frame has room for mounting holes at that width.

What is the distance from top to bottom of the side plate? Additionally, how far past the back edge of the side plate does the receiver tube protrude?
