Will Curt Class III C22HR Hitch for 2022 Acura MDX Interfere with Hands-Free Liftgate Feature

Will the hitch fit wothout having to remove the bumber cover and will it interupt the opening rear door sensor .

Curt Manufacturing lists the # C22HR Class III hitch as a fit for all models of the 2022 Acura MDX. Installation will not require removing the bumper cover.

If your spare tire is mounted to a wheel larger than 18 inches in diameter, the spare will no longer fit under the vehicle with the hitch installed.

Curt doesn't have any specific information regarding interference with the hands-free liftgate feature, but what will typically happen is that the sensors will be blocked by the receiver tube and the center of the bumper, but will function a foot or so to either side of center. You might need to wave a foot around under the bumper a few times to find the sweet spot, but typically the hitch doesn't completely prevent the sensors from working. I did read online that Honda offers a sensor relocation bracket that can be used if it's found that the hitch does completely interfere with the sensors, but this issue is more common to the Acura RDX/Honda CR-V.
