The Curt brand does manufacture quality fifth wheel hitches with thick dual jaws. However, there is not a Curt slider hitch option for the 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 with OEM prep package. You will need a sliding hitch for the short bed to insure cab clearance with the overhang of the fifth wheel. This will allow you to make sharper turns without knocking out your back window.
I recommend to use the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package part # BWRVK3775 which easily mounts into the OEM prep package of the Chevy without any adapters. This is the best fifth wheel sliding hitch option for your truck without the use of an adapter. The 1" thick jaw design eliminates king pin movement that leads to loud rattling and chucking. The best feature of the B&W is the cam action handle that allows you to unhook the trailer on unlevel ground without binding. I recommend to replace the pin in the handle with a padlock part # ML4140LH to protect your investments.
If you do not already have a fifth wheel/gooseneck wiring plug in the bed, I recommend Demco 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness part # DM8555002 that plugs in line with the factory 7-way, extends to the bed and provides a conveniently located 7-Way plug in the truck's side wall for hassle-free hookup. I recommend the Demco option because the Demco wiring is long-lasting, reliable and the plug has a 90 degree angle that makes installing the plug into the side of the bed easier.
