You sure can!

You would just mount either the Curt Friction Sway Control # 17200 or Reese Friction Sway Control # 83660 to the frame of your Travel Trailer.

You will then add the Reese Sway-Control Bracket # RP26003 to your ball mount if you have a 2" trailer hitch receiver, or # RP26005 if you have a 1-1/4" trailer hitch receiver.

The sway control and bracket will work just fine with your 2-5/16" hitch ball. The only thing that will matter is matching the sway-control bracket to the size of the trailer hitch receiver on your vehicle.

The smallest diameter hitch ball we have is actually 1-1/4 inches in diameter and is designed for use with friction sway control systems like #83660. The threaded shank diameter of this ball is 5/8 of an inch.

Hey Joe, while I don't know what brake controller you have you should be able to unplug it from the back of the brake controller and that would accomplish what you are wanting. What brake controller do you have?
