Custom Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Installation in 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L

Question:

Hi, I have a 2024 Jeep GC L Limited with the trailer tow package. (Receiver, 7 pin, 4 pin). I do not have a brake controller, but am very interested in the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty. Does the 2024 GC L with tow package have the wiring under the dash to attach to the Redarc module?

Hey Rich! The Liberty is my favorite brake controller and one you will be really happy with. Your 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L does have a tow port for brake controller installation. Redarc doesn't make a specific wiring harness so you will need the following:

-Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR

-Curt Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers # C51446

-Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter for Curt Brake Controller Harness # 331-TPH-019

The Curt wiring harness will fit the port under the dash on your Jeep and then the Redarc adapter will allow you to plug the Curt harness into the Liberty. If you need anything else don't hesitate to reply below.

Thx! One more clarification. (I’m traveling now so can’t see my GCL). I’ve seen etrailer videos where the Liberty Brake controller needs to be spliced into wiring found under the dash or carpet. You’re saying the adapter and harnesses recommended will allow me to plug in and not need to splice wiring on the 2024 Jeep GC L. Is that correct?

@RichG correct, it will be plug and play so no splicing required.

@RobinH awesome! I’ll be ordering today. In case I don’t see any area to insert the button in the dash, is there a bracket you can recommend?

@RichG they only have a universal mounting panel which actually requires a larger hole so I don't recommend it. I have a 2023 GC L and I would put it to the right of the steering wheel below the ignition. I don't think any model has anything in the way there. It is a very convenient spot to reach when you need to adjust or use the manual override. It is also high enough that you won't hit your knee on it unless you have really long legs. If you don't like it there you could go to the left but it would have to sit pretty low with the light controls and parking brake on that side.
