Does this rack tilt outward with bikes on it so the hatch on an SUV will open?

I have a great alternative for you. Unfortunately, the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # HLY94FR does not have the tilting feature. However, with a similar-style bike rack that does tilt, I recommend the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # C18085. The Curt 2 comes with the same frame-mount attachment style as the Destination, and it will also fit 1-1/4 inch and 2-inch hitch receivers. With the tilting feature, the Curt 2 will allow the rear hatch of your SUV to open (even when bikes are loaded on the rack).

If you need a trailer hitch receiver recommendation, I would be happy to provide you with a recommendation if you respond with your year/make/model of vehicle.
