Question:

I’m considering the Thule rack. Seems ideal. Locks. Ramp. Etc. We’re getting 2 Lectric XP 2.0 step-thru Ebikes. 1–these new bikes have 3” tires old version had fat tires. Do I need longer straps? 2– do you folks sell a cover that would fit over the bikes and rack for travel? Thanks, for now. I’m guessing I’ll be back.

I have a great solution for you. With a 3-inch wide tire on your Lectric XP 2.0 step-thru electric bikes, you will not need to purchase the Fat Bike Straps for Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack # TH903202 for that tire width alone. The EasyFold XT will hold bike tires 3-inches or less. However, if the wheelbase of your bike is close to the maximum 51-3/16" long, I recommend purchasing the Fat Tire Straps # TH985101. This is because the longer straps will ensure that you have the extra length needed to accommodate your long wheelbase. It is possible that the regular straps could be too tight.

As far as a cover, I recommend the Swagman Bike Cover for RVs - Large - 2 Bikes # S24FR. For using the cover, the installation involves sliding the bag onto rack, installing the rack in the hitch, mounting and covering the bikes, and zipping the bag shut.
