Please advise on subject. Will the hitch affect the foot operated hatch sensor on a 2021 Mazda CX9?

You will still be able to use the hands free lift gate feature on your 2021 Mazda CX-9 with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13284 installed, but you will need to put your foot on either side of the receiver and move it in and out until you find the sweet spot of the sensor.

After doing this a few times it will become second nature on where to place your foot.

In my experiance Bob, I find the Tekonsha #118726 is more durable over the Curt #C56315 for your 2016 Chevrolet Volt. Tekonsha wiring tends to have less issues with the converter portion going out down the road.
