Does the DrawTite Hitch Interfere with the Hands Free Liftgate on my 2020 Mazda CX9 Hitch

Question:

Im trying to confirm if adding a hitch to a Mazda CX9 disables the hands free liftgate feature. On the Mazda site it says yes, however somebody asked the same question previously here and you replied no. Is this simply because of the different design between the two hitches? If I understand your previous reply correctly the hitch may block the center of the sensor but if you kick on the sides it should still work?

You are correct! We have had good success with the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76020 and the hands free liftgate operation. As stated it will block the very center where the larger portion of the hitch is but on each side it still registers.

Check out the attached installation video for details. It is on a 2019 but will give you the same information.
