Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2000 Ford Excursion
Updated 04/21/2021 | Published 04/19/2021 >
Question:
Hello. I am needing a new Receiver hitch for our 2000 Ford Excursion. The entire hitch busted in half while driving down the highway with 4 horses. Luckily my brakes were still attached to the trailer so that slowed it all down. Attached are some pictures of the hitch so please let me know which model I need for sure. Item # C14011 is the one I was thinking of so please let me know if that is correct. Thank you. Attached are some pictures of the current hitch on the excursion for reference. Thank you.

I am glad to hear you and your horses are all right after the hitch broke while you were driving!
For your 2000 Ford Excursion I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" # C14011 as it is confirmed to fit your vehicle, and since it has a 1200lb tongue weight rating and 12000lb trailer weight rating so it will have no issues with your horse trailer with 4 horses.
I included a picture of the # C14011 installed on an Excursion for you to take a look at.
