Will 235/80-16 Trailer Tire Fit on 6-1/2 Inch Wide Wheel
Updated 04/03/2021 | Published 04/02/2021 >
Question:
I am replacing wheels on our toy hauler RV. We currently have 16x6 wheels and noticed these are 6.5 wide. I wasnt sure if the extra half inch would make any difference or not? We will be using the same 235/80/16 tire size as we have now and it looks like those fit on a 6.5 wide wheel. Id appreciate any information on if the 6.5 inch wheel width should be fine or if there could be any issues and we should stay with a 16x6 wheel. Thank you.

You'll be absolutely fine going with the 6-1/2 inch wide wheel such as the Taskmaster Viking 16 x 6-1/2 inch wheel, part # AX02665865HDBML.
A 235/80-16 tire can fit on a 6, 6-1/2, 7 or a 7-1/2 inch wide wheel without issue. The center cap and the valve stem are included.
