1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Now this 16-inch by 6-inch silver modular steel wheel is going to combine strength, simplicity, and style for dependable towing performance. This is designed with beveled stud holes that are going to seat securely against your hub, and it's going to help keep the lug nuts tight and secure, reducing the need for re-tightening after long trips. This powder coat finish gives you a clean, durable look that's going to stand up to the elements, while the modular cutouts here are going to add a touch of style that's going to fit right in on work trailers, campers, and haulers of all kinds.
So again, this is a 16-by-6-inch wheel. That's our diameter, 16 inches, measuring bead seat to bead seat, and six inches on the width. And then our bolt pattern is 8 on 6 1/2 inches. And in case you don't know, the first number of a bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes, but the second number is the diameter of the circle in inches, of which the bolt holes sit. So to measure a bolt hole diameter on wheels with an even number of bolt holes, as we have here, you simply measure from the center of any bolt hole to the bolt hole directly across from the first.
This heavy duty industry standard bolt pattern is going to be easy to match and replace. This is a durable steel construction, so tough enough for daily use of long hauls. And our wheel stud size is 1/2 inch by 20, or 9/16 of an inch by 18. This does not come with the center cap, but if you do pick one up, just need to make sure that it fits a pilot diameter of 4.90 inches. And this does have a load rating of 4,080 pounds.

The trailer wheel is for a much needed spare. Matches the previous wheels I purchased a few years ago even though a different manufacturer wheel. The reason for a four star rating is that there is always room for improvement.
