1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take you a look at the Dexstar 16 inch x six inch wide Silver Modular Steel Trailer Wheel with the 8-on-6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now this is a heavy duty sturdy steel wheel. Has the modular design to it. When we say modular design that's the one that has these round holes all the way around the wheel. Has a nice silver finish on it.
It is a silver powder coat finish over an e-coat primer. Gives you excellent corrosion resistance and it's coated on the whole front and back of the wheel. Now if you notice, this wheel does not include a center cap. If you do want one we do sell those separately on our website. The pilot hole diameter right here, this is the hole that that cap will go through.
It measures 4.9 inches. So when you do do go to buy a center cap you do wanna make sure you get the correct one. The center cap will push through this hole from the back. This wheel will meet the SAEJ 1204 standards and it does meet the DOT specifications. Few dimensions on this.
The diameter is 16 inches and when we measure the diameter it's always measured inside to inside. So basically if we take our tape measure, we go across there, you'll see the 16 inch diameter and the width is the same way. It's gonna be inside to inside or bead seat to bead seat. So you can see if we put our tape measure on it, six inches wide. Now the bolt pattern on this wheel is an 8-on-6 1/2 inch bolt pattern.
And if you wanna measure that bolt pattern on a wheel like this that's an even number of lugs it's pretty easy, cuz the lug holes are directly across from each other. So all you have to do is pick any one of the holes. Let's say this one, and you'll measure from the center of this hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it. So on this one it'll measure 6 1/2 inches. So that'll make this an eight lug, 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now this wheel does use the wheel lug size of either a half inch by 20 or 9/16 by 18. And the weight capacity on this wheel is 3,750 pounds. But that should do it for the review on this Dexstar 16 inch by six inch Silver Modular Steel Trailer Wheel with the 8-on-6 1/2 inch bolt pattern..

You can use a center cap like part # LHCS109-SI60C to fit with the 4.90 pilot hole diameter of the rim.
