Your 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 is rated to tow 3,500lbs which is enough for a couple of the smaller Forest River R-pod travel trailers. Your Mercedes chassis is not recommended to be used with a weight distribution and sway hitch. For the sway control you can install the Tuson Sway Control # 335TSC-1000 to make driving your R-pod safer.
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13290 will give you a 2" receiver to be able to tow the R-pod. It is custom fit to bolt up to your Mercedes. The etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 will provide you with 2 different drop/rise draw bars and both 1-7/8" and 2" balls. The R-pod will require a 2" ball to connect with your Mercedes.
For your wiring there are 2 choices. If you have the premium package Kit # C59496 otherwise Kit # 118747 will give you the 4-way connection for your trailer lights. You will also need the 7-way Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 to give you a 7-way for the trailer to connect to your Mercedes.
Finally a brake controller is required and I recommend the Curt Echo # C51180 for this as it is a Wireless brake controller that will not require you to tap into anymore wiring on your Mercedes. You can control it from your smartphone and as it is a proportional brake controller it will automatically adjust for light or severe braking without changes given by the operator.
