Question:
I have an older maybe 10 plus Falcon All Terrain non binding tow bar that is new to me. About to purchase base plate for my 2018 GMC Canyon. Any concerns or anything I need to do to ensure this is still a good tow bar prior to use for my first time? It came with rv when I bought it 4 years ago.

As long as the Roadmaster Falcon All-Terrain # RM-522 is still in good shape there would be nothing wrong with using it as is.
Since it is a bit older and you have only had it for the last 4 years I recommend giving it a good cleaning and lubricating it. Roadmaster recommends using the Roadmaster Tow Bar Cleaner - 22 oz Spray Bottle # RM-9932 and then lubricating it with dry silicone spray like # RM-747.
I would double check that the arms go in and out smoothly, and there is not obvious damage or loose/missing components. If you find any damage and need some replacement parts we have quite a few including the Repair Kit # RM910003-85, Replacement Nylatron Bushing # RM-200029-70, Replacement Inner Arm # 910021-65, Replacement Passenger Side Outer Bar # 910021-22, and Replacement Driver Side Outer Bar # 910021-12 should you need them.
I included a few videos, and the instruction manual that goes over maintenance of the # RM-522 for you to take a look at.
