For anyone who wants a tidy, factory look when not towing, this base plate keeps things sleek. The hidden design keeps brackets from protruding past the front of the vehicle, and the removable arms twist out easily for a clean finish. When the arms are off, you can plug in the receiver covers to keep dirt and debris out and avoid bumping into exposed metal. The distance between brackets is 24" and bracket height is 13-1/2", giving you clear reference points for setup.
No more wrestling with awkward alignments. Each arm inserts into the receiver and locks in place with a simple twist and pin. This makes connecting or disconnecting straightforward whether you’re in your driveway or at a campsite. When it’s time to remove the arms, pull the pin, rotate, and lift them out—it’s that simple.
This base plate bolts directly to the chassis using included hardware and requires no welding. The sturdy steel construction spreads towing force evenly across the frame to help prevent stress on suspension components. With powder coating for rust and corrosion resistance, it’s built to handle mile after mile of towing without compromise.
The lugs on this base plate pair directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure connection. If you run Roadmaster or Demco tow bars, you can use the proper adapters (RM-031, RM-031-5, or DM9523041—sold separately) to make them work seamlessly together. Integrated mounting points let you attach an electrical connector plug bracket (sold separately) so your wiring stays organized up front.
A straightforward bolt-on design means no welding or frame modification required. The included mounting hardware lines up with factory chassis points, making this installation manageable for most do-it-yourselfers. Once installed, you’ll have a solid connection ready for serious travel without changing your vehicle’s look when unhooked.

This was a replacement for one that got damaged by an unseen "bump" after crossing a raised railroad crossing. Works perfectly. Husband installed it himself. It was exactly the same model as the original.

The baseplate is exceptionally strong.
The installation, however, was not quite as easy as I had hoped.
The holes for installation on the baseplate did not line up with the brackets as outlined. There was a lot more drilling than I was led to believe, and it was not easy to drill through the car's metal. The instructions could've been more distinct. I'm sure it will serve me well for years to come....

This is a really nice, unobtrusive install on my 2013 Honda Fit Base. The removeable arms go on and off easy and smooth yet lock in securely. Highly Recommended

Hi Travelin' Man! I would love to see some photos of the setup on your Honda Fit if you have time. Where ya travelin' to next?
Everything as advertised. Followed the videos and instructions for installing the base plates and tow bar and all were good. Did a test pull today and it towed great, straight as a dye. I only have 2 suggestions. There was no mention in the video of the space plate, which was included. Figured it out. Second suggestion, Install a 2" ball on your work bench and adjust the receiver to it. The instructions tell you what socket to adjust it with but that could have been done on the bench before shipping. Great product, so excited. We are off on a few hundred mile trip with the Fit behind the motorhome Wednesday. So excited. No more tow dolly.

I have installed the Custom Tail light warning and the Trailer connector and it was very easy. I ran the wiring through inside the FIT wiring and it was very easy. Love the way everything snaps together.
I can't wait to install the base plate, trailer hitch receiver as well as the ByPass switch.
All these items will make our Motorhome experience much easier. Thanks etrailer

AWESOME! We just got back from a cross country trip with our MH pulling our Honda Fit. Did not have any problems. The product worked as expected.
The Blue Ox Baseplate and wiring kit was a breeze to install on my 2012 Honda Fit. The instructions were very clear, and the price was the lowest I found on the internet. Buy your products from etrailer.com, they have the best and most comprehensive instructions for this type of installation.
