Question:
Hello, I am inquiring about a hitch for my 2012 Acura MDX but want to make sure I purchase a compatible hitch along with a compatible wiring harness. The hitch we are looking at is item# 75614 and the wiring harness is item #C56038. Looking to tow a small camper around 2000 lbs. Also, we are looking for a temporary adapter for 4pin to 7pin adapter. If you could let me know my best options for my vehicle Id appreciate it.

You have found some great choices yourself. The Draw-Tite # 75614 is the perfect hitch for your 2012 Acura MDX. It is custom fit and requires no drilling. It will not allow you to carry a full size spare tire if you do have one. The Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole # C56038 is also the correct harness for your vehicle and will plug into the OEM wiring. We have great videos below on the installation of both of these.
For the 7-Way plug use Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. The 4-Way will plug directly into this to make the complete install simpler for you. You also get all the wiring needed to run to the front of the vehicle for a complete install.
Since the camper will have a 7-Way it will most likely have trailer brakes. To control those I suggest using Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180. It pairs with your smart phone to allow you to use it with different vehicles and trailers. It will also reduce the amount of wiring you will need to install on the 7-Way plug.
For a safer ride I recommend using a Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0600. It will help level your Acura so that the front doesn't become elevated causing light steering feel and diminished braking. It also will reduce the sway that can be caused when driving by wind and other vehicles. The last thing you want while traveling down the highway is that camper moving side to side in the wind.
