I can absolutely point you in the right direction for a base plate kit that fits your 2009 Chevy Colorado Z71. I checked with the manufacturer for you, and can confirm that the correct fit is from Roadmaster, the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # 3122-1.

These base plates are going to maintain your truck's aesthetic because they have removable arms for when you aren't flat towing. It will require a compatible tow bar, and for that the best option for your Chevy due to how easy it is to use, as well as its long arms for the best maneuverability, is the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-522.

To complete your flat towing set up you will need a few other parts, the Safety Cables # RM-645, 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267, Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400, and Brake Buddy Classic 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39494.
