When you’re not towing, you don’t want brackets sticking out from the front end. This base plate keeps things clean with a completely hidden design. 2019 Ford Ranger baseplate worked and fitted fine for me. 73 yrs old took me a couple hours but took many breaks. Younger could do it less than hour I'm sure.
Also works fine with my Blue Ox tow bar.
Takes about 45 minutes to install
The product was as represented and was delivered in a very timely manner. It only took a few days and I was surprised at that. It was packed well and did not have any damage from transport. Now it will be a lot of fun taking the front of my pickup apart and installing it!

The product arrived but because it's heavy it came in two boxes and one box was beat up bad,however that is the shippers fault. I use E trailer alot they always come through for me and save me a few bucks to boot.
This is a great product. Being able to install it myself was a primary reason for my purchase, and I was not let down. I didn't even have to make any modifications to my 2010 Colorado! Very satisfied.

A year out and Im still a happy camper pun intended. The powder coat on the exposed metal is coming off, but I can deal with that.
Instructions were great, would have liked a few more pictures on the trimming for the plastic. Not hard, was easy to do, exact fit. took two guys an hour 1/2.
It has been a year so the install is not real fresh in my mind but don't recall any real issues. I did have to cut a bit of the plastic plate under the truck but it still goes up fine and does what it is suppose to. It is great when in use and not really noticeable when not.

Good product, exactly as advertised. Looks sturdy and good once completely installed. Love this product, looks better than the competition. No major problems encountered during installation. Will not be using it very often, only when i would have to pay for a separate vehicle when not towing.
The part itself is great, the fit was not as good. The holes did not line up in the frame rails, had the drill out the holes a lil to get bolts in. It was also a little short length wise, it pulled the frame rails together some. Also did not mention having to do a lot of trimming to the under plastic cover.
Installation was quick and very simple, the directions were very clear - it took me less than an hour and 1/2. The best part is that it's hardly even noticeable.

Everything is working as it should, we are very happy with our Blue Ox Base Plate purchase. Its actually the 3rd different vehicles.
Sturdy, quality materials, easy to install, and works like a charm! I've been using this base plate for a year and about 12,000 miles without an incident. It's as good now as the day I installed it. I highly recommend this base plate kit!
This being my 3 base plate from blue ox, I am still am impressed at the engineering that was used to get this great product.I will be towing a 2006 Colorado and I do not worry about the safety of my tow. Thanks for this great product.
This item was delivered with in 2 days of ordering from e-trailer and was able to install it by following the provided instructions. It works very well on our 2006 GMC Canyon.

I loved the Blue Ox baseplate I had on my GMC Terrain. So, when I decided to get an older Colorado as a dedicated "toad", this baseplate was a no-brainer. As always, instructions were easy enough to follow and installation was pretty easy (so much less involved than the Terrain). The only challenges I faced were:
1. Drilling 2 holes up through the frame, right through a seam and welds took as much time as the rest of the install because my bit(s) were worn.
2. Routing the safety cables and trimming the plastic skid-plate just right so that it would fit back together.
Everything else was very quick and easy. I love that the Blue Ox baseplates are mostly hidden and they hold up well.
