Replacement for Thule Vintage 586 Ski Rack
Updated 01/14/2021 | Published 01/12/2021 >
Question:
Will these speed link connectors work with the old-old 586 ski rack? I think that the coated stainless steel strap would be universal for any factory cross rail. I need to know if the 13 mm bolt is compatible with connecting to the 586 rack. I am trying to resurrect this rack and fit it to a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder with factory cross bars. Thank you!

I reached out to my contact at Thule and this rack had custom clamps that attached to the 586 on one side and square bar cross bars on the vehicle. The speed links that you referenced will not connect to the 586, and Thule does not have vintage back stock available for that rack.
The closest item offered that will accommodate 4 pairs of skis is the Inno # INTX726, Snow sport Ski and Snowboard Carrier - 6 Pairs of Skis or 4 Boards. Ski rack has key locking mechanisms, and large release buttons operable with heavy gloves on.
I have attached links to this product and a video review.
