There are two different styles of bike racks that will fit your 2021 Volvo XC90 that does not have a trailer hitch receiver, which are trunk mount and roof mount bike racks.
For trunk mount options there is the Yakima HangOut 2 Bike Rack # Y02637 or the 3 bike version # Y02638. Both of these bike racks can one bike up to 35lbs, or can support two bikes totaling 60lbs, and 3 bikes totaling 90lbs respectively.
These bike racks are confirmed to fit your XC90, but you will not be able to open the rear hatch with the rack installed.
For roof mount options I recommend taking a look at the SeaSucker Talon Roof Bike Rack # 298-BT1004 for carrying one bike, # 298-BM2006 for two bikes, or # 298-BB3008 for carrying three bikes. The best part about these roof mount racks is that they do not require a roof rack, and can be used on multiple vehicles that have a flat roof.
Since all of the SeaSucker options are fork mount, you may need an adapter to attach your bikes. The available adapters are for 12mm Thru-Axle # 298-BA1423, 15mm Thru-Axle # 298-BA1424, or 15mm Boost Thru-Axle # 298-BA1425.
Out of all of the options mentioned I recommend the Yakima HangOut 3 Bike Rack # Y02638 as it is much easier to load bikes onto than the SeaSucker racks on the roof, and the 3-bike version will give you the option to carry an extra bike in the future compared to the 2-bike version.
